ORAC Assay on the FLUOstar OPTIMA to Determine Antioxidant Capacity

By BMG LABTECH

BMG LABTECH has performed and optimized the fluorescent-based Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity (ORAC) assay on the multifunctional FLUOstar Optima microplate reader. The ORAC assay can be performed on any food or blood sample, thereby creating an assay where the antioxidant capacity of a substance can be measured both directly and indirectly.

The FLUOstar Optima has the ability to read in three modes (absorbance, luminescence, and fluorescence), has a standard 45°C incubation chamber and has optional onboard injectors making it the ideal machine to perform the ORAC assay.
