Walmart Inc operates a chain of hypermarkets, discount department stores, and grocery stores. The company operates its business through three segments – Walmart US, Walmart International, and Sam’s Club. Walmart US is a merchandiser of consumer products, operating under the Walmart and Walmart Neighborhood Market brands, besides walmart.com and other eCommerce brands. It provides an omnichannel experience to customers, integrating retail stores and eCommerce, through services such as pickup and delivery, ship-from-store, and digital pharmacy fulfilment options. Walmart U.S. manages business in three strategic merchandise units – grocery, general merchandise, and health and wellness. Grocery consists of grocery items such as dry groceries, snacks, dairy, meat, produce, deli and bakery, frozen foods, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, and consumables such as health and beauty aids, pet supplies, household chemicals, paper goods, and baby products. General merchandise includes entertainment (electronics, toys, seasonal merchandise, wireless, video games, movies, music, and books), hardlines (automotive, hardware and paint, sporting goods, outdoor living, and stationery), apparel (apparel for men, women, girls, boys and infants, besides shoes, jewellery, and accessories), and home (housewares and small appliances, bed and bath, furniture and home organisation, home furnishings, home decor, fabrics, and crafts). Health and wellness include pharmacy, over-the-counter drugs, medical products, optical services, and other clinical services. Walmart International operates supercenters, supermarkets, hypermarkets, warehouse clubs (including Sam’s Clubs) and cash and carry, and eCommerce through walmart.com.mx, walmart.ca, flipkart.com, and other sites. Sam’s Club is a membership-only warehouse club that also operates samsclub.com. It offers merchandise in five categories – grocery and consumables (chilled or frozen packaged foods, floral, and other consumables), fuel, tobacco, and other categories, home and apparel including home improvement, outdoor living, and gardening, technology, office, and entertainment consisting of consumer electronics and accessories, software, video games, office supplies, appliances, and third-party gift cards, and health and wellness.
