Managing director Fred Cremer has transferred his controlling interest in Cremer Speciaalmachines to Uhlmann Pac-Systeme & Co in Germany.
Uhlmann Group is a family-owned company and the world’s largest supplier of complete blister lines for the pharmaceutical industry. With an annual turnover of €300 million, the Group employs around 2000 people worldwide.
Cremer Speciaalmachines is a leading supplier of product counting machines, with a strong focus on the pharmaceutical industry. Cremer has an annual turnover of €26 million and employs around 140 people at two facilities in Lisse, a small town in the Netherlands.
The acquisition of the Cremer company as of 1 January, means a large and important expansion of Uhlmann’s business and product portfolio. Cremer will benefit from Uhlmann’s expertise and its global sales organisation.
With combined strength, both companies will be able to expand their market shares in the pharmaceutical packaging business.
Neither customers or services will be affected by the change in ownership. Cremer will remain a strong and fully independent company, which will keep carrying the name of its founder and all of its specialised and dedicated employees.
Fred Cremer stated: "I’m 58 years old now and by selling my shares to Uhlmann I have ensured the continuity of the company.
"I am confident that this transaction is in the interest not just of both companies, but of all our current and future customers. The ongoing growth of the Cremer company requires a solid organisation with professional managing ability and leadership.
"We as a company will therefore greatly benefit from the experience already acquired by Uhlmann and its subsidiaries".
Fred Cremer will remain as the managing director of the Cremer company.
