Teledyne Gas & Flame Detection provides gas monitoring solutions to increase workplace safety in pharmaceutical manufacturing plants.
The company helps medical companies avoid the build-up of toxic and inert gases on the production floor, in research and development (R&D) laboratories and plant utility rooms. Due to the use of nitrogen in many of these areas, the detection of oxygen depletion is particularly important.
Teledyne Gas & Flame Detection offers a wide range of gas identification products and configurations.
Gas detectors for pharmaceutical operations
Teledyne Gas & Flame Detection’s devices feature infrared automatic sensor recognition, including both catalytic and electrochemical detection. It provides customers with fast optical response times to identify the presence of gases such as ammonia, methane, chlorine, ethanol, Freon and sulphur dioxide.
The company’s gas detection technologies meet the requirements for a variety of applications, including protecting storage silos, vat cleaning and ensuring laboratory safety. Its high-quality data loggers monitor volatile organic compounds and combustible gases such as carbon dioxide (CO2), hydrogen and oxygen (O2).
Analogue and gas monitoring controllers for laboratories
The MX43 controller is Safety Integrity Level 1 (SIL-1) certified for gas detection. The device measures and controls gases using both digital and analogue channels that comprise up to 32 detectors.
The controller features two additional Metal Oxide Semiconductor Field Effect Transistor (MOSFET) outputs than standard systems for the creation of audible and visual alarms. It can programme up to five parameter ranges per detector, each featuring between one and three alarms.
The MX43 has an easy-to-read backlit display, simple embedded menus and an optional USB module that provides a recording capacity of more than two years.
Identification of toxic gases in medical manufacturing facilities
The OLCT 10N is a digital gas detector designed to identify and monitor oxygen and toxic gas levels in pharmaceutical production facilities.
Used in combination with the MX 43, the OLCT 10N provides a fast and accurate response. Up to 32 detectors can be connected on the same digital line or distributed across eight lines. Transmitter information is received by the controller in less than one second.
Operators use a magnetic wand to interact with the data logger, which can be calibrated without opening the enclosure. Information such as the span reserve is stored directly in the logger to increase data security.
The OLCT 10N is ingress protection (IP) 65 certified and recognised by ATEX for use in ATEX 2 and 22 zones. It is also resistant to water and dust.
Infrared gas detector for combustible gases
The GD10P infrared detector is used to monitor combustible gases in pharmaceutical manufacturing plants.
This low-maintenance unit has a solid-state infrared source that provides highly stable detection and a long service life.
The GD10P features heated optics to prevent condensation, a Highway Addressable Remote Transducer (HART) interface and fail-safe operation.
Portable device for detecting multiple gasses
Teledyne’s PS200 MultiGas Detector is a portable unit that is designed to detect oxygen, combustible gases, hydrogen, sulphide and carbon monoxide.
Calibrated using the PS200 Auto Bump & Calibration Station, the device’s easy-to-read display allows easy access to information such as gas concentrations, while its built-in sampling pump makes it suitable for use in confined spaces.
It is available in standalone, PC and ethernet versions, and features optional accessories such as a five-way charger and coloured rubber boots.
