Europe’s leading sustainability rating organisation, EcoVadis, has awarded a Silver medal to LB Bohle, recognising the pharma industry process machinery leader’s latest advances in environmental sustainability.

The award places LB Bohle in the top tier of the more than 90,000 enterprises across 175 countries and 200 industries rated by EcoVadis. The rating recognises Bohle’s outstanding performance in areas such as environment, sustainable procurement, ethics, social responsibility, and employee welfare.

The EcoVadis ratings for 2024 were published in late summer with awards recently distributed.

Sustainable actions

LB Bohle’s executive director of sales, Tim Remmert, commented: “The silver medal award means that we are among the top 15% of companies worldwide that have been assessed by EcoVadis in the current period.

“This is an outstanding result that we as a company can be proud of, especially at a time when sustainability and ethical behaviour are becoming more and more important in the global economy.”

Mr Remmert said the award underlined LB Bohle’s continuous efforts to be a leader in environmental, safety and governance (ESG) areas and also provided an incentive to continue investing in sustainable practices.

“This award reflects the company’s philosophy of promoting technological innovation as well as environmentally and socially responsible business practices,” he added.

Whole-team effort

Thorsten Wesselmann, executive director of technology at LB Bohle, said the EcoVadis award confirmed the company as an industry pioneer for sustainability. He emphasised that the medal belonged to everyone at LB Bohle.

“This silver medal is a great success for our entire team. It shows that we are on the right track and encourages us in our efforts to promote sustainable practices in all areas of our business,” said Mr Wesselmann.

“We see it as an incentive to do even more to further reduce our environmental footprint while ensuring the highest standards of ethics and social responsibility,” he concluded.
