This workshop is aimed at those who are looking to find a solution to their viscosity measurement or customers who are new to viscosity. The workshop will involve theory and practical sessions.
Our aim is that by the time you leave the viscosity workshop, you will be able to:
Practical Viscosity
- Understand the basic theory associated with viscosity
- Design meaningful experiments to measure viscosity of your sample
- Different ways of measuring viscosity
- Choosing spindle and speed for simple test methods
- Checking instrument performance and calibrations
- Appreciate the potential problems and pitfalls in making a measurement
- Interpret the resulting data
Introduction to Rheology
- Understanding shear stress and shear rates as it relates to your products and their processes
- How does rheology determine how your products flow?
- Yield stress and Thixotropy: How do they govern real-life flow?
Hands-on session on different viscosity measuring instruments. Places will be limited to ensure a good ratio of delegates to tutors during the workshop.
