CataloniaBIO has launched the PHOENIX Study to get the financial world’s vision about the sector and the financial needs of biotech companies.
The study was presented on 7 July at the majestic Golden Hall of the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Navigation of Barcelona and had as its main focus the presentation of the action plan to improve the capital raising in the biotech sector using round tables and interviews celebrated with most of the country’s finance companies, in addition to the analysis of the obtained results from Association companies, in terms of their reality and needs related to their financing. Ysios, IMB Group and AB Biotics sponsored the event.
The event began with a welcoming speech from Miguel Valls (president of the Chamber of Commerce of Barcelona), Antonio Parente (CataloniaBIO president) and José Ramón Sanroman (managing director of the ICF). Then José María Chaqués, from Grow Up Services, a company that has cooperated on the project, and Ricard Munné, vice-president of the economical area of the Association, participated too.
In addition, six companies of the Association explained their funding success cases: GP Pharm (Alberto Bueno), Biokit (Pau Planas), Advancell (Kenneth Weissmahr), Archivel (Isabel Amat) and Hexascreen (Francesc Godia).
