Schlick offers a wide range of injection lances for the defined introduction of reducing agents for SNCR (selective non catalytic reduction) and SCR (selective catalytic reduction) processes for the removal of nitrogen from flue gases. In the SNCR process the tip components of the nozzle are made from heat-resistant stainless steel. Because of this the lances can be used for continuous operation in air up to approx. +1,150°C, and with varying temperatures up to approx. +1,000°C. As standard, lance systems with tube-in-tube technology are used. This avoids pre-vaporisation in the feed unit and therefore prevents undefined dosing of the reducing agent.
In order to increase the operating life of the nozzle tip a protective tube surrounded with low pressure sheath air is recommended. The introduction of the fluid is performed transversely to the flow direction of the exhaust gas. Because of this, forming of the spray jet is necessary to achieve optimum mixing of the reduction agent with the exhaust gas flow. Large duct dimensions, high speed, fluctuating amounts of exhaust gas and turbulent flows require injection lances, which produce average droplet sizes of between 40µm to 60µm and spread this droplet population over a wide area of the reaction chamber.
With the two-media nozzle method a carrier gas, which pulverises the reactive agent at the speed of sound at the nozzle tip, breaks up the droplets and therefore accelerates the emerging liquid phase. Two-media nozzles can be designed for internal or external mixing. All NOx lances are equipped with exchangeable nozzle tips. Hence, the form of the spray jet can be modified.
