The NanoLIBS is a state-of-the-art handheld laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS) instrument for the identification and investigation of raw materials such as monatomic salts.
This atomic spectroscopy technique provides the elemental spectrum ideal for identifying monatomic ionic salts such as potassium chloride (KCl) and sodium chloride (NaCl) without requiring reagents or the lengthy sample preparation. Compact and agile, the NanoLIBS can be used by non-technical users to rapidly identify samples in the lab, warehouse, loading dock or field, helping to eliminate quarantine areas and expedite materials through the manufacturing lifecycle. It is one of the only handheld LIBS devices on the market addressing specific raw material identification (ID) applications with full regulatory compliance.
The NanoLIBS is fully compliant with all governing regulations, including 21 CFR Part 11 and Part 1040.10, and can play an integral role in current good manufacturing practice (cGMP) compliant facilities. B&W Tek offers a wide variety of services, including assistance with method and/or new library development as well as support with installation qualification (IQ) / operational qualification (OQ) / pharmacovigilance qualification (PQ) implementation.

State-of-the-art identification software
The NanoLIBS comes standard with B&W Tek’s proprietary NanoLIBS OS software installed within the unit, which allows for identification and investigation, library and method development, and data storage/ transfer.
The NanoLIBS ID software with a secure database, is designed for use on PCs for data and methods management, allowing customers to review data, generate reports, export data, and integrate to their LIMS system. The NanoLIBS ID and NanoLIBS OS software packages are 21CFR part 11 compliant with IQ/OQ documentation and services available for pharmaceutical customers.
In addition, the NanoLIBS provides secure Wi-Fi and Ethernet synchronization capabilities with network terminals in order to optimise time and resources. NanoLIBS OS is capable of data and report transfers in order to centralise information (such as libraries, methods and final reports) in general servers.
