South & Central America witnessed a 13.8% drop in IT hiring activity in the pharma industry in November 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics dashboard.

November 2022 has seen a decrease of 13.97% in the overall hiring activity when compared with October 2022.

IT jobs accounted for a 4.87% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in November 2022, registering an increase of 0.29% over the last three-month average share.

Miscellaneous Computer Occupations Occupations leads by classification in November 2022

Miscellaneous Computer Occupations Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in South & Central America with a share of 41.18% in November 2022, a 75% rise over the previous month. Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers came in next, claiming a share of 32.35% in November 2022, marking a 45% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Computer and Information Analysts with a share of 14.71% in November 2022, a 58.33% drop from October 2022.

Computer Support Specialists registered a share of 8.82% in November 2022, a 50% decline over the previous month.

Top five pharma companies in South & Central America’s IT recruitment activity in November 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 130% in the overall IT recruitment activity of South & Central America’s pharma industry during November 2022 over previous month.

PSI CRO posted 8 IT jobs in November 2022 and registered a flat growth over the previous month, followed by Pfizer with 5 jobs and a 25% growth. AstraZeneca with 4 IT jobs and Johnson & Johnson with 3 jobs, recorded a 33.33% rise and a flat growth, respectively, while Qventus recorded a flat growth with 3 job postings during November 2022.

Country-wise composition of IT hiring in South & Central America’s pharma industry

Brazil commanded a leading presence in the region’s pharma industry IT hiring activity with a 26.47% share in November 2022, a 47.06% decrease over October 2022. Costa Rica featured next with a 26.47% share, down 43.75% over the previous month. Argentina recorded a 23.53% share, a growth of 33.33% compared with October 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in November 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 76.47%, down by 27.78% from October 2022. Mid Level positions with a 14.71% share, registered a decline of 28.57% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with an 8.82% share, down 25% over October 2022.
