IT jobs accounted for a 3.73% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in September 2021, registering an increase of 0.02% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in September 2021
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Middle East & Africa with a share of 75% in September 2021, a 45.45% drop over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 18.75% in September 2021, marking a 25% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Computer and Information Analysts with a share of 6.25% in September 2021, a flat growth from August 2021.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 8.33% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Middle East & Africa’s pharma industry during September 2021 over previous month.
Parexel International posted 7 IT jobs in September 2021 and registered an increase of 16.67% over the previous month, followed by Sanofi with 3 jobs and a flat growth. DarioHealth with 1 IT job and F. Hoffmann-La Roche with 1 jobs, recorded a 66.67% drop and a 50% drop, respectively, while Mediclinic International recorded a flat growth with 1 job postings during September 2021.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Middle East & Africa’s pharma industry
South Africa commanded a leading presence in the region’s pharma industry IT hiring activity with a 62.5% share in September 2021, a 33.33% decrease over August 2021. Israel featured next with an 18.75% share, down 40% over the previous month. United Arab Emirates recorded a 12.5% share, a growth of 100% compared with August 2021.
Mid Level job postings dominate in September 2021
Mid Level jobs held a share of 50%, up by 14.29% from August 2021. Junior Level positions with a 31.25% share, registered a decline of 73.68% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with an 18.75% share, up 200% over August 2021.
