The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 7.46% in December 2021 when compared with November 2021.
Out of the pharma industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 1.56% share in December 2021, recording a decrease of 0.21% over the last three-month average share.

Top five pharma companies in Canada’s IT recruitment activity in December 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 13.51% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Canada’s pharma industry during December 2021 over November 2021.
Bausch Health Companies posted 22 IT jobs in December 2021 and registered a drop of 40.54% over the previous month, followed by Alberta Health Services with 19 jobs and a 24% drop. Penticton Regional Hospital with 11 IT jobs and Recursion Pharmaceuticals with 6 jobs, recorded a 175% growth and a 200% growth, respectively, while McKesson recorded a flat growth with 6 job postings during December 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in December 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 63.83%, down by 31.03% from November 2021. Entry Level positions with a 20.21% share, registered an increase of 35.71% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Mid Level job ads with 14.89% share, down 26.32% over November 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 1.06%, recording a month-on-month flat growth.
