Australia’s pharma industry registered a 17.6% rise in IT hiring activity in February 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring increased by 6.26% in February 2022 when compared with January 2022.

Out of the pharma industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 1.62% share in February 2022, recording an increase of 0.34% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in Australia’s pharma industry’s IT recruitment activity in February 2022

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 92.11% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Australia’s pharma industry in February 2022.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 43.42% in February 2022, registering a 26.92% growth over the previous month.

2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed an 18.42% share, an increase of 7.69% over the previous month.

3) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations held a share of 13.16%, registering a 400% rise from January 2022.

4) Computer and Information Research Scientists captured a share of 9.21%, up 600% over the previous month.

Top five pharma companies in Australia’s IT recruitment activity in February 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 62.5% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Australia’s pharma industry during February 2022 over January 2022.

Ministry of Health, New South Wales, Australia posted 41 IT jobs in February 2022 and registered a rise of 28.13% over the previous month, followed by Planet Innovation with 10 jobs and a flat growth. CSL with 6 IT jobs and Ramsay Health Care with 5 jobs, recorded a flat growth and a 25% growth, respectively, while Genesis Care recorded a decline of 25% with 3 job postings during February 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in February 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 75%, up by 42.5% from January 2022. Mid Level positions with a 14.47% share, registered an increase of 37.5% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 10.53% share, up 166.67% over January 2022.
