Cannabidiol (Epidiolex , Epidyolex) is a phytocannabinoid, one of the active cannabinoid identified within the Cannabis plant accounting for up to 40% of the Cannabis plant's extract, acts as an anti-epileptic agent. It is formulated as a solution for oral route of administration. Cannabidiol (Epidiolex) is under development for the treatment of electrical status epilepticus of sleep (ESES), anxiety disorders with Tourette syndrome, tuberous sclerosis complex in patients age 1 month to less than 12 months, epilepsy with myoclonic atonic seizures, Lennox-Gastaut syndrome (LGS) Dravet syndrome, schizophrenia, autism spectrum disorder (pervasive developmental disorder), tuberous sclerosis complex, anorexia nervosa, Sturge-Weber syndrome, infantile spasm, tremor in Parkinson's Disease, heroin use disorder, opioid use disorder, developmental and epileptic encephalopathy and Fragile-X syndrome (FXS). It was under development for Rett syndrome and schizophrenia related psychotic disorder.
It was also under development for the treatment of blepharospasm, neonatal Hypoxic-Ischemic Encephalopathy.
